She spends three years as a detective in a small town. Then she lands a job in Cincinnati, Ohio.
One reason for her selection as a detective for the Cincinnati Detective division is that she is a Black female and the Chief of detectives, also Black, desires to integrate the all-white detective division. He recognizes Alex as an exceptional candidate.
Alex is thrilled with the possibility of being a detective in Cincinnati. It is a smaller city, but its murder rate is comparable to New York or Chicago.
The Chief hires Trey McGregor, a Marine veteran, a policeman in Milwaukee. Trey, trying to escape the depression that a combination of PTSD and several recent shootings in his precinct, accepts the offer.
She is focused on becoming the super detective she always desired to be. And practices a daily routine that includes the gun range, bicycling, running, daily floor exercises and weight training.
The first murder has a bizarre twist that tests her capability, threatens her support, and makes Trey wonder if he has the right partner.
Her preparation and skill development pay off and she overcomes the killer. Trey assists her on the capture of the killer.
She becomes friends with Trey and his family.
The Chief gets recognized for stopping a serial killer. He becomes an Alex supporter.
Little does she know how the future events will challenge her.

Taelo Series
(Early American Historical Fiction)

The white capped snow topped mountains, the dark green of the tall pines, the ice glacier slowly, ever so slowly moving between the mountains surround the valley where Taelo (Tā low) and his cousin Golden Hawk call home. The two young boisterous and energetic boys, range throughout their valley and into the mountains as they grow and hone their hunting skills. They are young and unafraid but very aware of the dangers around them.
They quickly learn the lessons taught by their fathers and listen closely to their mothers. The stories from both sets of parents guide and inspire them to accomplish more than their parent's intent but in all cases their accomplishments set them apart from the other young children.
They attract both girls and boys as close friends. They demonstrate their abilities and courage as they face a wide variety of events.
When in danger, Taelo normally, but always unconscious of his action, steps to the front and protects his cousin. His cousin always has his back. They are inseparable. As they grow, their skills grow with them, and their exploits are more adventuresome and daring. As a team they seem able to overcome any the challenge that they face. They grow closer and they are recognized by those around them as exceptional.
A mad mother bear with a baby cub confronts them they outwit her.
They transform the salmon season by inventing a way to trap the fish.
A saber tooth tiger hunts them but ends up being the hunted.
A crazed lion meets its match.
Their friendship expands to embrace the team that follows them. In each situation by working together they face the danger and survive the moment. Their close bond, their pure spirit, their eagerness to learn provides the guiding light that carries them forward in a journey that neither they nor those around them can truly envision.

The Problem Solver
The Problem Solver, Ian Sinclair lives a double life. In both lives he is a problem solver. He is guided by solid principles that non-the-less leads him to deploy solutions that are final solutions.
He treats others as he wishes to be treated but he often deploys the solutions that are counter to that philosophy. Solutions that are the yin to his philosophical yang.
The signal for him to act is most often disclosed when a news reporter uses the phrase, "there must be someone who can solve this problem.
Once in the field, he focuses on the solution that he has determined is the appropriate one.
He faces each situation as it plays out and adjusts his actions as required to resolve the problem.
His relentless pursuit of the solution over comes the numerous barriers that he faces.
In all cases he knows that flexibility is of primary importance because it is seldom that plan A can be flawlessly executed.
The downs, when in the field, are absorbed and replaced with the actions required to come out alive.
Those actions are most often fatal to those that mistakenly pursue him.
He always leaves a solution that benefits society.
His reward is to return to Lesley, the love of his life, his wife.

The new President's vision was of opening up the solar system to extensive exploration.
A young woman and two young men graduating at the top of their college classes are devasted by learning they have six months or less to live to live.
An Airforce General asked to lead the development of matter transmission has one year to get it done.
A husband-and-wife scientific team are near a matter transmission breakthrough.
The General, known for his ability to guide complex scientific development efforts runs with the President's vision. Recruits all the right players.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine mice die as they are transported from the decomposition to the reconstitution chambers. The one thousandth mouse receives the miracle of, as on a whim Tom reverses the transmission system polarity.
The breakthrough has happened!
The transmissions go from mice to squirrels, to rabbits, to goats and finally to a two-hundred-pound pig.
A human subject is next.
The General has three human subjects. They are the three who have only a few months to live and are willing to be the first to be transported. One of them comments that if a pig could do it he should be able to do it as well.
World competition for a similar capability rises to a very aggressive level. The three human subjects successfully transported are kidnapped. The competition desires to examine them to see if they can learn how the transmission works.
Just as things seem to be getting organized, an adversary in the President's own party sabotages the effort.
Missiles to destroy the rocket that is launching the team is targeted.
The main rocket is blown up, but the quick thinking of the team in the transport module propels them up toward the command module.
Joe's heroic action saves the team.
Another breakthrough leads to the ability to create a hole in the fabric of space that negates the need for speed of light travel. The Universe is opened to Joe and his team.
The Bram Nielson Series

BK 1: The Fold
Bram figures out how to Fold time and space and to transport objects.
This capability makes him a target of multiple organizations.
He molds the Fold project into an organization that makes a series of breakthroughs.
The threats to his life and those around him increase exponentially.
He engages a brilliant autistic young girl trapped in a wheelchair to help him determine how an object travels through the Fold.
BK 2: The Message
Bram's first Fold to a distant location is followed with Folds that allow him to explore much of the universe.
A plea for help from a distant galaxy is intercepted. No response is necessary if the message traveled in normal space. If the message came through a space-time Fold then taking action would be crucial.
In the determination process the math making a Fold dynamic and maneuverable is improved.
It is discovered that experiencing a Fold has a positive health effect.
Zuri's transformation from a wheelchair bound young woman to a defect free person occurs.
The Aliens are sent a message of help on the way.
BK 3: Fold Wormhole
Bram expands the Fold capabilities. He learns to send and receive Fold messages by folding and sending neutrinos.
He uses this capability to offer help to the Alien civilization.
He visits the new water world home. He also visits the Earth-like planets to determine their use by his team.
Continueing attacks challenge Bram and his team.
The exploration into the negative time Fold exposes a new dimension where neither time or linear space exists. The universe is not the only existence. Each universe has its own unique conditions.
Bram loses his way. Then his sensors began to blink a simple message in morse code, "follow the light," ..-. --- .-.. .-.. --- .-- / - .... . / .-.. .. --. .... -, he knows immediately that Pat has figured out how to save him.
He follows the light.
BK 4: Negative Fold
Reality is altered when the locked room is opened. The message on the board and the notarized note stating the date and time alters everyone's understanding of what reality is. The proof that the past can be altered and changed challenges the belief that past events are fixed. Bram wonders if the future has reached into the past and altered it.
The discovery changes Bram's plans of how to explore the Negative Fold.
The most pressing investigation is to determine if the future is actively engaged in altering his reality. Bram sets a trap and almost loses his life to the intruder from the future.
Help comes from an unexpected situation that has occurred previously and has accidently crossed the time line that he and the villain from the future both occupy.
He implements the Mataia maze, a maze from which nothing is can exit.
BK 5: Ripples In Time
The time to leave Earth has come. He establishes Mataia as the new home.
Mataia becomes the new home for the Fold project and its ongoing exploration.
The ability to alter events by reaching both forward and backward in time allows the move to Mataia to take place.
Exploration leads to the discovery of several alien worlds.
The settling of a second planet. The contact with the future point to future possibilities.
The future's is able to impact the past by using current individuals as surrogates.
An attack during the triple weddings of Bram and two close friends is thwarted. The weddings and planned honeymoons on Mataia occur.
The planet of Amoral Aliens is dealt with.
The friendly planets are contacted.
Mataia is fully established and a society of explores and discovers goes boldly forward.
The Savitar Series
(Science Fiction)

In Journeys End the Martian Civilization faces the threat of a black hole. The threat devastates what they know as the Fourth Orb, Mars. That Civilization had a heroine who salvages what remains and in subsequent years attempts to re-establish colonies in the solar system. She fails and eventually she leads the Martians out beyond the Solar System to find a new home.
Two hundred million years pass and then Earth is faced with the same threat. However, Earth is farther advanced, and they have a hero, Zack, who figures out how to capture the small black hole. Getting to and then capturing the black hole is a technological, political and personal challenge. Earth's hero and his personal body guard, Janet, face and overcome the challenges. They finally overcome all. They create a gigantic space vessel, the Savitar. It's scientists discover the presence of an ancient alien presence in the solar system. The Savitar agrees to investigate this presence.
Janet's comment on seeing the ring on Titan as "it must be a big dog to have ring that big to tie the chain to," causes Zack to recognize the ring as the bottom of a space elevator.
The Savitar sets its own anchor and establishes a space elevator to the surface of Titan. There a message engraved in the ceramic anchor above a sealed ceramic box captures the imagination of the team.
A visit to Mars verifies that the early solar system space travelers were Martians that had suffered a planetary crisis.
After deciphering the message left by the departing Martians, Janet wonders if after two-hundred and twenty million years the surviving Martians still exist.
She composes and sends a message to where the Martians may have gone. After a long waiting period a simple response saying that they had survived and would respond in detail is received. The Confluence of two civilization occurs.
Janet becomes closely tied to a Martian, Nadia, who she learns has written the sad poems of to all those who died on Mars. She names her twins, a boy and a girl, Keren, and Nadia after the two persons that were the leaders in saving the Martian population.
The Martian's reply that they are glad that there is a three hundred year distance between them and a very talented but also very aggressive human population.That in their short period of human development have out done the two-hundred twenty million years head start that they had.
Janet envisions a long and close relationship long distance relationship with the long departed Martians.
